Airservices Australia’s air traffic control tower at Launceston Airport is of significance to Australia for demonstrating the principal characteristics of control towers of the post-World War II era (Commonwealth Heritage List criterion D). The Commonwealth Environment Minister included the control tower in the Commonwealth Heritage List on 24 November 2015.
In accordance with section 341S of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act), Airservices is developing a management plan to protect and manage the site’s Commonwealth Heritage values.
Under 341S (6) (b) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, Airservices Australia invites comments on the draft heritage management plan from members of the public.
