51 Swinburne Street, North Geelong, Victoria
Lovell Chen's heritage team prepared a conservation management plan for Osborne House, a mid-19th century bayside estate in North Geelong.
Osborne House is of historical and architectural significance. It was among Geelong's finest early mansion houses, and one of the earliest properties in North Geelong. Despite layers of 20th century additions and modifications, the 19th century fabric — notably of the house and stables — provides substantial evidence of how Osborne House functioned as a pastoralists's estate from 1858 to the early 20th century.
The conservation management plan considered various approaches
to the development of the estate and the extensive grounds.
