Lovell Chen was involved in the conservation and restoration of the complex over several years. Most recently, we undertook the documentation and contract administration for the roof replacement of the north station building, along with a comprehensive overhaul of the ceremonial west and south elevations, the reinstatement of glazing and vents to the train hall roof and restoration of the footbridge.
In 2007, we completed a comprehensive overhaul of the grand west and south elevations of the south station building involving the reinstatement of details, mouldings and key stones that had been removed prior to the Queen’s visit in 1954.
Previous projects included a comprehensive conservation management plan, documentation and administration for restoration and refurbishment of the train hall and north and south station buildings, investigation of the exterior decorative finishes and feasibility studies for the station area.
