We are seeking an exceptional landscape architect with a keen interest in design, sustainability, innovation and landscape history to join our existing landscape service area, working across a broad portfolio of assessment, management and design projects with a landscape component.
Working at our busy East Melbourne office your role will be to collaborate with our established team to deliver projects, from researching and assessing heritage landscape features and settings to developing designs for public and private landscapes. In design, you will be involved in the conception and evolution of projects, from illustrated concept and master plan drawings to documentation for approval processes, tender and construction. In heritage planning, you will contribute to the description and understanding of heritage places and assist in the preparation of guidance and policy advice for management and statutory planning.
In other words, you are the candidate who loved your degree programme’s landscape history and theory courses and now obsess over the historical context of the places you design for.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in landscape architecture, landscape design or an equivalent related discipline, and will have 5+ years’ professional experience. You will be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
Key knowledge and skills required include:
— excellent written, verbal and graphics communication skills, including confidence in preparing written reports and documents
— experience in the production of landscape and technical documentation
— experience producing landscape/urban design drawings and technical documentation
— experience or interest in heritage planning and/or the history of designed and managed landscapes an advantage
— horticultural or arboricultural experience an advantage
— proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe CS
— proficiency in GIS and/or 3D visualisation software an advantage
