Victoria's Court of Appeal is located in the 1886 Supreme
Court Annexe, which originally housed government offices but was converted to court use in the 1970s. Working to a very tight schedule in a building that remained partly occupied and under high levels of security, we refurbished one section and designed three new courtrooms, furniture and fittings, and associated judicial and public areas.

Preliminary studies and extensive brief development work was undertaken, including the examination of alternative court layouts and procedures. The process considered both the physical fabric of the courts and current and projected electronic requirements. Design, documentation and construction were completed in six months.
